July Tingwall fish feeding on caenis nymps.
18th caught a 1.5 male Houlland fish on #10 Orange hedgehog. It had been feeding on #14 shrimp.

Hillloch: In the 1990s, for more than ten years, I kept a detailed written fishing diary. This was interupted by family life. Now that my children have grown I intend to continue this record of habitat, fauna and fishing techniques. I am lucky to have access to a greater variety of freshwater types than in any comparable area of Scotland, (according to the Nature Conservancy Council). So for reasons of simplicity, not to mention economy, I will mostly confine my study to lochs within a radius of 5 miles from my home. There will be exceptions for occasional fishing trips to other areas and especially the loch that my club holds competitions on. The purpose of this blog is to record this study and I hope my efforts will bring a greater understanding and appreciation of fly fishing for wild brown trout.
